Welcome Tony!
Tony Anderson, the new marketing specialist for the Missouri Department of Agriculture, has returned to Missouri after a 9 year hiatus. Originally raised on farms in Owensville and Bland, he graduated from Owensville High School in 1991. Tony continued his education at the University of Missouri pursuing a degree in Horticulture. In 2003, he earned an MBA from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee.
Much of his horticultural passion started as a child, both from growing up on the farm, as well as spending time with his grandparents in NW Arkansas. His grandfather maintained a 4-5 acre vegetable garden with another acre devoted to a grape vineyard and apple orchard, while his grandmother developed an impressive ornamental garden and bearded-iris collection. Many of the iris and grapes are still there but Tony has recently helped his parents develop some of the remaining acreage into a small pumpkin farm.
Tony's areas of focus are farmers' markets, agritourism and horticulture.

AgriMissouri Market at MO State Fair
One of AgriMissouri’s biggest marketing opportunities of the summer is the AgriMissouri Market at the Missouri State Fair. Thousands of people will visit the AgriMissouri Market during the fair so it is a great place to highlight your products.
The AgriMissouri Market is a storefront that houses only AgriMissouri members’ products. Participation in the AgriMissouri™ Market is voluntary. Refrigeration space is limited so a majority of the products must be shelf-stable and all must be properly labeled. Below are links to more information about AgriMissouri Market Participation.

Missouri Grocers Association Trade Show
AgriMissouri invites you to participate in the Missouri Grocers Association Trade Show August 29 and 30. Last year, eight AgriMissouri companies took advantage of this marketing opportunity.
The trade show takes place at Chateau on the Lake in Branson. Attendees of this trade show include most of Missouri’s independent grocers. If your packaging, manufacturing and pricing are ready for the retail grocery market, this is a trade show you should consider.
AgriMissouri is subsidizing the booth cost for the trade show. Members cost will be $225 instead of $550. If you want to attend any seminars or if you need electricity in your booth, you will have to arrange payment for those services. All booths are 8’ x 10’, they include pipe and drape, one eight foot skirted table, waste basket and two chairs.
The trade show is open from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29 and from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 30. Setup is all day Friday and Saturday morning. AgriMissouri has a limited amount of booths available so members are encouraged to complete the enclosed form and return it to Sarah with the proper payment quickly. The absolute final deadline to participate is June 1.
