Better Process Control School Offered in Missouri
A Better Process Control School for acidified food producers will be offered in Jefferson City at the Lincoln University Carver Farm on January 20-21, 2010. Successful completion of this course is a requirement for producers of acidified (pickled) products such as salsa and relishes. Instructors are from Purdue University, University of Missouri Columbia and the FDA.

Registration materials and more detailed information about the course are available in the workshop brochure. Course cost is $150 and includes the textbook, exam, certification, and refreshments for breaks. Class size will be limited. A large response to this course offering is expected as it is a very substantial cost savings over the normal fee so register quickly.

This course is cooperatively sponsored by the Missouri Food Safety and Security Task Force under an FDA grant, along with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, and the Missouri Department of Agriculture. For more information contact Mary Fandrey at mary.fandrey@dhss.mo.gov.
